About Ali Pearlman
Ali Pearlman supports students and their families comprehensively throughout the college search and admissions process. She is passionate about facilitating creative ways for students to infuse their personality and perspective into college applications and essays. She is also a great judge of character and loves helping her students select schools that will lead to a successful college experience.
Ali received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Yale University. While there, she regularly tutored high schoolers and assisted with college essays and applications, as well as served as a head Freshman Counselor during her senior year. Ali also played on the varsity women’s softball team. After attending Seton Hall Law School on a full merit-based scholarship, Ali practiced corporate law at a large firm in New York City. She then transitioned to recruitment, placement and orientation of new attorneys in both a law school and law firm setting.
Ali joined the Private Prep college admissions advising team in 2019. During her four-year tenure at Private Prep, Ali worked with families in Westchester County, NY, Bergen County, NJ and Fairfield County, CT. During this time, Ali navigated the changing admissions world due to the COVID pandemic – adapting strategies and approaches to reflect new testing policies (test optional), virtual learning and campus visits, and constantly shifting trends in acceptance rates.
She is a member in good standing of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) as well as the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).
In her free time, Ali loves gardening, cooking, golfing, and hiking Westchester trails with her husband, two sons and labradoodle.
